Shouting Fire is an independent, international broadcasting collective, born on the playa and inspired by Burning Man. We are dedicated to the free flow of information and to spreading art and culture.

Leenerella has been burning since 2000, and her home camp on the playa is BRC Hardware Shoppe. She began as a college radio DJ and theatrical sound designer in the 90s, and currently runs KHXW at Pacific Northwest regional events like Critical NW. She’s a Gen X, granola goth, stargazer, techno-bard, weather witch, and all-around nerd.

Andi aka That Andi, grew up up in New Jersey, went to high school in Manhattan, college in Vermont, then moved out west in 1994. He first landed in BRC in 1996 while living in San Francisco, after moving to Hawaii, he founded the Hawaii Regional in 2002.   He went on to found the Regional Information Center which later became the RNC then Everywhere in 2004, and finally CORE in 2011 before retiring in 2012. Before finally returning to the playa in 2024 he launched The Shadow Of The Man program.

Fax Machine (he/him) is a human based in Austin, Texas. He started burning in 2024 with KFLiP Camp at Burning Flipside. Mingjing Huang is an artist working in multiple mediums and a system architect/electrical engineer who builds consumer electronics products.  She has worked at some of technology’s most iconic companies, including Apple, Cisco, Lab126/Amazon, and Nokia.  Mingjing has shipped products with more than 1million units in volume, and filed fifteen patents (12 granted) with topics spanning electromechanical interconnect, human computer interaction design, and algorithms.  Her engineering consulting firm, Essence Engineering, has helped clients in consumer electronics, wearables, and medical devices fields. Since 2017, Mingjing has brought her insatiable curiosity and creative energy to building large scale art.  She collaborated with Symmetry Labs to bring their sculptural work Sea of Light to New York City, and Light Garden - 1000 Year Bloom to Honolulu, Hawaii.  She helped light the Rainbow Bridge by Josh Zubkoff with 25,000 LEDs at Burning Man 2018 and Art Basel Miami Beach 2018.  In 2019, she led the team that created Yomigae, a light art installation on the exterior of the Temple of Direction at Burning Man.

An avid radio technology hobbiest and piano player since 1982, Mark has enjoyed a fantastic adventure exploring both music and engineering, often combining the two. He's designed avionics for NASA spacecraft, developed new types of undersea robots and wind turbines, ran a pirate radio station, and created kinetic musical art pieces for the Burning Man event. Mark has also filled the chief engineer role for BMIR since 2009.

River is originally from the USA, but is now based in a few places in Europe. Her eternal quest for passionate music brings her to venues and mosh pits throughout the continent. She hopes to one day be dirty broke, beautiful, and free.

Galfridus aka Jeff Green was born and raised in the north.  He discovered BMIR when he brought his son to Black Rock City in the early 2000s and has been contributing to BMIR and Shouting Fire ever since.  Galfridus is the root name for Jeffrey, and means “land of peace”.
